Jonathan H. Adler , Senior Director of Enoironmental Policy Competitive Enterprise Institute

Jonathan H. Adler is senio r di rector of environmental policy at the Competitive Enterp rise Institute, a Washington, DC-based public interes t group dedicated to the principles of free en terprise and limi ted government , where he oversees the Institute's environmental policy programs and edi ts the mon thly new slett er CEl UpDate.

Mr. Adler is the author of Enuironmentalism at the Crossroads: Grt.'ell Activism ill America (1995), and edi tor of Tlu:Costs of Kyoto: Climate Change Policy and Its Implications (1997). He is a freq uen t commentator on environmental issues on both radio and television, havin g appeared on CNN Headline News, ABC World News Tonight, Nig htline, an d Na tional Public Radi o's Morning Editio n and Talk of the Na tion, among man y other programs.

Mr. Ad ler has published more than 100 articles on environmental and regula tory policy, appearing in such publica tions as The Wall Street Journal, Los Allgclt.'s Times, Washingtoll Post, The Public Interest, Regulation, and Policy Review. He is a contributing edi tor to Intellectual Ammunition, p ublished by the Heartland Institut e, and a columnist for the vvashington Times Sunday book sec tion. Mr. Ad ler also con tr ibuted the cha pte rs "Clean Fue ls, Dirt y Air" to Enuironnientai Politics: Public Costs, Private Rctoards (Praeger. 1992) and "Benchmarks" (with Peter Cazarnias) to The Trlle State of the Plallet (The Free Press, 1995).
