Abstract

The 1D inverse scattering problem of reconstructing the material properties of an inhomogeneous lossy dielectric slab is considered. The material properties are reconstructed using scattering data from time harmonic electromagnetic plane waves. The incident plane waves are either TE or TM polarized. The inverse scattering problem formulated as a nonlinear optimization problem by means of integral equations is numerically solved using an iterative scheme and Tikhonov regularization.
