Abstract

This paper describes a numerical method for the analysis of the magnetic shielding with thin layers in three dimensional, time-harmonic magnetic fields. In this method, FEM is employed to solve a couple of differential equations which express the surface impedance of the thin shielding materials. The magnetic fields in air regions are modeled by means of BEM. The above formulations are coupled to evaluate the shielding properties. The resultant matrix equation includes unknowns of two times the number of nodal points. This method can analyze not only a shielding system with closed surfaces but also that with open surfaces without
