Abstract

A formulation for the complex Newton-Raphson method is proposed. The derivation is obtained on the assumption of a non-analytical system. The method is applied to the finite element calculation of shielding problems with sinusoidal ex-citation and ferromagnetic material. An application example for which measurement data are available is given in order to judge the convergence characteristics and the reliability of the proposed method.
