Abstract

The helium circulator is one of the important components of the High Temperature Gas-cooled Reactor Pebble Bed Module (HTR-PM). It uses the electromagnetic suspension technology to support the rotor, the so-called magnetic bearing technology. Considering the performance and safety issues on the axial active magnetic bearing(AMB) caused by potential high temperature, this paper calculates copper loss, iron loss and wind loss in axial AMB and simulates temperature field under a normal operating condition, and compares the results with the experimental data.
