Abstract

This paper proposes a new CPW rat race coupler whose shape has been meandered using the superformula for size reduction. The coupler operates at a center frequency of 1.8 GHz. The size reduction in the proposed design is about 74% as compared to conventional ring rat race coupler. The bandwidth of the proposed coupler defined by |S11| < -15 dB is about 31.6%.
