Abstract

In this paper, an optimized approach based on T-shaped step impedance transmission line is proposed to design a compact dual band 4-way planar power divider. In the proposed structure, the 100 ? quarter wavelength transmission lines are equaled by the Tshaped step impedance transmission lines (SITLs) which achieve the design equations with two freedom degrees. Then, the invasive weed optimization is used to find the optimized design parameters. Three power dividers with different operation frequencies ratio are designed and simulated to show the method ability. Finally, one 4-way planar power divider is fabricated and measured to verify the ability and power of the proposed approach which shows 53% compactness and proper specifications in both the operation frequencies.
