Abstract

In this paper a new method is proposed for the treatment of rigid beds in morphodynamic models. The divergence of the sand transport rate is responsible for the evolution of bed elevation, and the proposed method consists of limiting the transport in order to reduce its divergence so that the rigid bed is not eroded. The technique is detailed in the framework of the finite element theory.
