Eléments finis triangulaires pour la simulation de l'emboutissage

Although only triangles can describe shells of general shape with plane facets, it is only recent/y that a code of complete forming simulation has been marketed using only one type of element : the triangle "BPT" with three degrees of freedom per node. Using the constant strain thin plate element "S3" and simple equivalent mechanisms, this article shows how the triangle "BPT" can be derived from the element "DKT6" based on discrete Kirchhoff hypothesis and used in sheet forming software based on an inverse method. The elements "BPT", "S3" and "DKT6" as weil as "CO" (Belytschko) are implemented within the same software. Numerical results for these four elements are compared to theoretical values orto experimental values after stamping and spring-back.
