Numerical simulation based on CAD and finite element method, with implicite or explicite approach, could be used to solve non linear and strongly coupled problems as those existing in steel processing and forming. This paper points out some typical problems which must be clarified by the scientific community. Those problems lead to large scale models which need new computational technics such as strong parallelism to be solved.
