Dr. Sanjiv Dhingra is a professor and an accomplished scientist with research expertise in regenerative medicine and immunology in the areas of metabolic disorders, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and drug induced cardiomyopathies. He employs stem cells and biomaterials-based approaches for tissue regeneration and repair. Dr. Dhingra has published several papers in prominent journals in the area of stem cell therapy, biomaterials synthesis, tissue engineering, inborn metabolic disease modelling and drug development. He has served as Editor, Editorial Board Member and Adhoc Reviewer for several journals in the area of regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. Dr. Dhingra also serves as Reviewer and Member of Advisory Committees for different granting agencies. He has trained a number of postdoctoral fellows and graduate students, who are now well placed at different levels in academia and industry. Dr. Dhingra has been actively involved in promoting the field of stem cell therapy and tissue engineering. He has organized several national and international conferences and symposia. He has been recognized nationally and internationally for his efforts in promoting research.

Vincenzo Desiderio graduated in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at the University Federico II of Naples with an experimental thesis in oncoimmunology. He worked as research assistant in both academic and industrial field for few years before joining a PhD program in biotechnology held between the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli” and the University of Michigan (UofM). He is actually Associate Professor at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli” lecturing Medical Histology and Embryology in the Medical School program specifically dedicated to international students. His research activity has focused on stem cells biology and cancer stem cells identification and characterization leading to the publication of more than 60 pubblications in peer review journals. He is member of the Italian Society of Histology and Anatomy (SIAI) and of the Italian Society of Flow Cytometry recognized as expert in the national register of cytometrists. He was Visiting Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, Guest Lecturer at the Children Hospital of Philadelphia and at the Charles University of Prague. He received three scientific awards from IADR, UofM and SIAI.
