It is estima ted that 527 billion dollars wa s lost as a result of pow er
m i shap s d uring 1996. Within the in d us try, there is little agr eem ent on
the effect that electric power ind us try restr uct urin g will ha ve on the
future reliab ility a nd qu ality of the sys tem. Howe ver, man y e ng inee r ing
