DETERMINATION AND ANALYSIS OF CAUSES OF INDUCTION MOTOR MAGNETIC NOISE

Abstract

This paper presents the causes of the acoustic noise magnetically generated by three-phase induction electric motors and some results of tests and calculation are discussed. The influence of the rotor slots skewing on the reduction of the magnetic noise is also analysed through calculated values. The paper gives a general view about how the magnetic noise in induction motors is generated and how much its prevision is important during the design stage.
