Three methods for the analysis of frequency-dependent resistances and inductances of multiconductor transmission lines are outlined and compared. The first method comes from power-engineering applications, and it is based on a numerical solution of an integral equation for the distribution of the conductor volume currents. The second method is based on the perturbation technique. The third method comes from high-frequency applications, and it is based on the principle of equivalent surface electric and magnetic currents.
