Abstract

This paper deals with numerical developments carried out within a commercial finite element code in order to perform modal analysis on coupled fluid-structure problems for axi-symmetric geometry, with a pressure-displacement formulation. A new finite element is developed in the Ansys code: the theoretical bases of such an element are presented, together with elementary validation. An industrial application is then exposed: a modal analysis of a naval propulsion nuclear reactor is performed with the new fluid finite element developed in Ansys.
