Aims and Scope
JMM publishes high-quality research on the design, development, deployment, and evaluation of mobile multimedia systems, services, and networks. The journal reflects the growing convergence of mobile multimedia with other domains such as artificial intelligence, edge computing, smart cities, immersive technologies, cyber-physical systems, and the Internet of Things.
The journal particularly welcomes submissions that address cross-sector applications and innovations—including mobile health, mobile learning, intelligent transportation, digital finance, and extended reality (XR) — highlighting the ways in which mobile multimedia is transforming industry, governance, and everyday life.
JMM also actively encourage submissions that explore the challenges of building context-aware, secure, energy-efficient, and user-centric systems that deliver high-quality experiences across diverse devices, networks, and environments.
Areas of focus include (but are not limited to):
- Mobile multimedia networking and architectures
- Mobile multimedia content delivery and adaptive streaming
- Artificial intelligence and machine learning in mobile systems
- Big data analytics and mobile social networks
- Immersive mobile applications: AR, VR, MR, and XR
- Multimedia support in mobile edge/fog/cloud computing
- Context-aware and personalized multimedia systems
- Smart cities, IoT, and sensor-rich mobile environments
- Security, privacy, and trust in mobile multimedia systems
- User experience (UX) and quality of service (QoS) optimization
