Abstract

The prediction of the intensifies of the damage mechanisms which develop within the laminated composite structures is based on an approach called "mesomodelling" initiated in the L.M. T-Cachan more fifteen years ag o. Nevertheless further enhancements may still be achieved at the simulation levet considering the standard incrementai methods are not convenient when applied to high nonlinear phenomena like the brutallocalization of damage. We present then an extension of the LATIN method to (visco)plastic with softening materials with the intention of increase the numerical robustness of this simulations. An error estimator-based on the constitutive relation error notion- has been introduced in arder to control the precedent computations. The results of a one dimension mode! problem show the feasibility of the method.
