Abstract

This work consists in jointly applying the asymptotic numerical method to the finite element method, and the classical contact law to formulate gearing. In order to determine the component of displacement only due to contact, the study highlights the limits of the effects of the contact in the thickness of the tooth. The various parameters related to the numerical asymptotic method and the law of contact are varied in different simulations and the results are compared with those of the literature. These parameters are chosen to be in good adequacy with the analytical approaches.
